The Business Case for eQ!TM

Today, Java development initiatives favor one of two main approaches for delivering applications. These include the use of RAD tools, with minor tweaking and coding, or the in-house development and use of custom "development architectures".

Although RAD tools can provide modest "up front" development gains, they exact a severe penalty over time by escalating the requirements for custom coding, workarounds and expensive updates. The RAD tool approach also frustrates the design and deployment of flexible, solid, and portable development architectures useful to the entire enterprise.

The in-house "development architecture" approach can be more successful, but requires continuous funding and can encourage a technology-centric rather than business-driven solution focus. Bound to the technologies available at the time, these solutions may also lack the flexibility to leverage newer technologies and standards as they evolve.

The eQ!TM approach solves these constraints by providing a technology-neutral "Foundation" that promotes quality application design, accelerated application delivery, and the flexibility to reuse your valuable business components throughout the enterprise --- even as new Java standards and technologies evolve. Furthermore, by automating utility, change and maintenance code production, the eQ! Foundation allows your resources to focus on solving the business, rather than technical requirements of application solutions.
